Did you know that it can cost the West Texas Symphony as much as $70,000 to present a single concert? Some of our expenses may include Orchestra Personnel, Guest Artist, Music Rental and Royalties, Piano Tuning, Venue Rental and Staff, Instrument Transport/Fuel.

Additional Operating Costs include salaries for the Music Director & Conductor, Executive Director, Development Director, Marketing Director, Office Administrator, Operations Manager, Personnel Manager, Ensemble MusiciansChorale Director, Voices of the Permian Basin Director, as well as marketing, printing, music performance licenses and general business operation expenses.

If we covered our concert and operating expenses with ticket sales alone we would have to charge over $150 for each ticket! In reality, ticket sales only account for about 9 percent of the annual budget. We depend on contributions from loyal donors and sponsors like you to keep the music playing.

From our founding in 1962 to the present, supporters of West Texas Symphony have demonstrated a strong tradition of giving. Please donate generously to ensure the future of beautiful music in our community. Consider a personal or corporate gift through one or more of our many giving opportunities. Donations can be made as Individual Gifts or Corporate Gifts made through the Annual Fund Drive and/or Planned Giving. You may also support the symphony by Sponsoring a concert, becoming a Friend of the one of the Chamber Ensembles or Choral Groups, Advertising in our program book, donating In-Kind Contributions, and/or joining the Midland Symphony Guild or Odessa Symphony Guild.
