ABOUT US

West Texas Symphony (formerly Midland-Odessa Symphony & Chorale) is proud to enrich lives through professional music performances and music education programs.

Unique, compared to similar orchestras throughout the United States, the West Texas Symphony includes a symphony orchestra, adult chorale, youth choir, and three resident instrumental ensembles.

Under the baton of Music Director & Conductor Gary Lewis, the symphony orchestra currently has over 70 professional musicians. Ranked by the League of American Orchestras as a metropolitan orchestra, WTS proudly holds the distinction of being one of the largest professional performing arts organizations in West Texas.

The instrumental ensembles - Lone Star Brass, Permian Basin String Quartet, and West Texas Winds - perform with the symphony as principal musicians and in two annual recitals, in-school music education concerts, lunch time concerts and many other WTS and community events.

The Chorale and Voices of the Permian Basin Youth Choir rehearse weekly and enjoy a variety of performances throughout the season.
